Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services is within our vocational school, which was established on January 05, 2012 under the name of Içmeler Tourism Vocational School. The name of our school was changed to Marmaris Tourism Vocational School in 2015 with the decision of our university's senate. In the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services, Cooking, Catering Services and Tourism and Hotel Management programs are available. Cooking and Tourism and Hotel Management programs accept students within the scope of daytime education and evening education. Catering Services Program only accepts students for daytime education. Our students receive professional education at the associate degree level for 2 years in the programs in our department.
Academic Staff
Within the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services, there are 2 Lecturers in the Cookery Program. In the Catering Services Program, there are 2 Lecturers and 1 Lecturer Dr. And lastly there are 2 Lecturers and 1 Lecturer Dr. in Tourism and Hotel Management Program.
Cooking Program
Marmaris Tourism Vocational School, which is a unit of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and started its activities by admitting students for the first time in the 2012-2013 academic year, allows 30 students to work in groups at the same time with its educational kitchen with industrial standards. Along with the theoretical lessons, the students of the cooking program gain experience in the field of cuisine with the help of the practical lessons, as well. In the summer term of the first academic year, sectoral experience is provided to our students through 60 working days of compulsory workplace internship. With our academicians, each of whom are experts in their fields, academically competent and experienced in the sector, our program provides education within the scope of both daytime and evening education.

Catering Services Program
The tourism sector, covering the disciplines of food and beverage, entertainment, transportation, accommodation, congress and sports, is one of the fastest growing sectors in developing countries. This sector and service industry is the main source of foreign currency income, new jobs and economic growth. Hospitality industry is a service industry within the tourism industry. In this industry, there is a need for manpower. This industry needs a person who can prepare and serve food and drink in restaurants, fast-food, patisseries, etc., and implement a business plan. Also, this person should have a developed sense of smell and taste, and he/she should work quickly and regularly. Also, he/she should be careful, meticulous, and have a high sense of responsibility. The aim of our department is to train qualified staff who have all the theoretical and practical knowledge needed and necessary in the field of catering services, who can use computer technologies and who have the ability to make decisions and implement them when it is necessary. Our graduates from the Catering Services Department will have wide job opportunities in tourism businesses, food and beverage businesses and catering businesses within the sector.
Tourism and Hotel Management Program
The aim of Tourism and Hotel Management Program is to train individuals equipped with the ability to use and analyze the theoretical knowledge about the tourism sector. In addition, it aims to train people who will be able to work in the middle and upper management levels of tourism enterprises, it also aims to train students who attach importance to ethical values. Another aim is to raise self-confident individuals who can follow and interpret the developments in the sector and in the world. In addition to the theoretical courses related to the tourism sector, the students of Tourism and Hotel Management Program can improve their skills in using their theoretical knowledge with applied courses such as front office and housekeeping automation systems and food and beverage services automation systems in the computer laboratory.
